This report summarizes the presentations and discussions during the conference “Genomic data governance for Precision Medicine: where we are today and want to be tomorrow”, that took place on September 1 and 2, 2025. This two-day event brought together leading experts, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and patient representatives to present the current state of play of genome sequencing in Belgium and to explore the future directions in genome sequencing and data governance in Belgium and across Europe. The aim of this event was to advance the national conversation on genomic data governance for precision medicine, and to explore and define the next steps required to leverage genomic data governance.
